JANUARY 2021
We are very sorry but the PCC of St Mary's have taken the difficult decision to return to Online Services at least for January. We believe this is the safest thing to do for everyone. Sunday Services will be live on St Mary's Facebook page, or recorded on Youtube, via links on the St Mary's website. Online Morning Prayer will resume at 9am on Jan 11th on Facebook. The church will remain open for private prayer. As always you may call or email the Vicar at any time! God bless, Rev Annette.

A big thank you to Eagles class from Salehurst School for putting together this amazing nativity scene in the church, to highlight homelessness.
DEADLINE EXTENDED!!
On behalf of FSW (Family Support Work) and the Xmas collection, please drop off your donations before December 6th to No 1 Post Office Terrace, next to the church. Due to Covid 19, collections are earlier than usual. Any donations of chocolates/biscuits, multipack crisps or snacks, Xmas pudding, stuffing, gravy, cranberry and bread sauce etc, would be much appreciated. We would also welcome gift voucher donations that can be given to older children. (Please put those in envelopes and label). Please get in touch with Martine if you are not sure. Our FSW families need your support at this very challenging time.
We are very sorry that there will be no Remembrance Sunday parade this year due to Covid restrictions.

Family Support Work Update 21.10.20
A message of thanks from Sarah Mackenzie:
What a bumper harvest we have had. We have seen huge generosity from our churches and schools from across the whole Deanery.
THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH.
In particular we had asked for tinned goods –meats, fruit and vegetables. These together with milk, squash, tea, coffee, cereals, pasta, rice, and biscuits, loo rolls, cleaning materials and toiletries will ensure that our families in need of support will not go hungry.
All of this years’ Harvest offerings have been brought to Heathfield as we are the collection point for moving the food directly onto FSW. Today Carollyn and I loaded the FSW van.
A mammoth task: this included 12 large supermarket trays, upwards of 60 carrier bags of tins, including some large bags for life. We received an enormous cardboard box full of cereals, boxes of assorted jars and packets, nappies and baby milk. All of these will find a good home very quickly as you will see from latest account of FSW’s work in numbers for last month:
242 socially distanced visits and 134 phone calls supporting 49 grandparents, 318 parents and 305 children
28 supported meetings with other agencies
16 online group sessions
265 food deliveries made
A quote from one of our families:
"The service is truly remarkable and no amount of words can thank you enough for the support you have provided us with."
Very many thanks to you all. It is so good to know that, with everyone’s help, we are making a REAL difference.
